I received a phone call and the info below for a request to support the Family Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita. If any club member is available and interested please contact Demetra at her number below. This is a worthwhile event so if you can, give her a call. It is not known yet what restrictions we may be under due to the Pandemic, but hopefully by this time we will be getting back to normal. I believe the facility is located at 639 S Maize Ct in Wichita, so hopefully some members in NW Wichita can help her out.

Hi this is Demetra Austin from Family Health and Rehabilitation Center,
I am calling regarding the phone conversation that we had earlier today. We are wanting to do a car cruise for our residents the Thursday before Father's day which is 6/18/20, we would like to have this event at about 3:30 to 4:30.
However we're up for discussion on the time. I can be reached at 316-425-8355, that is my direct line here at Family Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,

Hello Marauders!
I hope this announcement finds all of you safe, healthy and staying at home if you can.  We
look forward to seeing all of you when the time is right!
A couple of announcements:
*Per Royce Taylor - president of the Wichita Area Council of Car Clubs - the 2020 Lake Afton Car Show
scheduled for June 14, has been CANCELED.  Not knowing what things will look like in the next few weeks
until the show, they thought it was in the best interest of everyone to cancel for this year and look forward
to next year's show on June 13, 2021!
*Per Ron Wagoner - he informed me that the Cruise-Ins at Central and West have
been discontinued.  This was a decision made by new management of the property and not just temporarily because
of Covid19 and the stay at home order.  We have been cruisin there for several years and I know the car community
will miss this weekly get together.  Ron appreciates everyone attending these cruises and if anything changes in the
future, he will let us know.
Everyone take care of yourselves and one another, be safe and stay healthy.

-there has been at least 3 cruise's in Mulvane over the last couple of weeks, for the most part it has gotten alot of people out in their cars for a little while, just have to remember to social distance, no congregating, pictures of the cruises are in the photo gallery on the website.

-just a reminder that Showdown in the Valley has been rescheduled to September 12th, move in will be on Friday September 11th, our problem is that we will not be able to set up the Arena until Friday morning which means we will have to do it "EARLY" in the morning, we will tell our Vendors and partciapants they will be moving in at a later time than normal, we have not decided on the time yet, this is assuming we are past the pandemic by then, more info to come.

Request for Graduation Parade Cars

Below is a note I received from fellow car enthusiast Don Scobee, since graduation has been cancelled they would like to put 1 Senior in each car, if any of you would like to support this event please contact one of the name's below, I would guess they would need to know by May 1st, this is not an organized Marauder event, we would whole heartily support this if it was not for the current corvid-19 pandemic, we are leaving the decision up to each Marauder, hopefully we will be on the downside of this pandemic by then:

Hi Steve,
The Belle Plaine High School Graduation Parade is scheduled for Sat. May 16th at 10am. We would meet at the High School. Rich is still working on the details but we have 41 graduates and would need 41 classic cars. We have some local cars that will participate and some may come from the Falcon club. Any help from the Mauraders would be greatly appreciated by us and the graduates. Steve, when you get some answers you can reply to me and Rich (HS Principal) if you would. Thanks for your help!

We still must keep our social distance, but we can holler at each other and make whatever hand gestures you think are appropriate-haha!

Update on House Bill 2528:

View this email in your browser

Exciting News and Work Still Needed!

Antique Tag HB2528 Update.
Kansas Classic Vehicle Owners we need your help! We received an update that the Bill was received by the Senate successfully after the Kansas House approved it 124-1 as a clean bill as we have written. The Senate referred the Bill onto the Senate Transportation Committee for review and approval. The Senate Transportation Committee will be hearing the Bill on this TUESDAY March 17th at 8:30 am. We're planning on being present to testify before the committee. If you're interested in coming up and speaking or providing a letter to be read before the committee hearing please contact me personally or forward your letter to me before Monday the 16th. This is so we can notify the committee to add your name to the list and print off 30 copies of your letter to be read to the committee. If you can't make it we understand and thank you for all your support. We only have 30 days to get this done, otherwise we have to start all over again next year from the beginning.

The Senators will be working the Bill and will be listening to ideas and suggestions. We’ve been told that we have quite a few Senators that are tossing up the idea of increasing the fees, having a one-time lifetime fee, and having mileage restrictions for Antique Vehicle Drivers.  Let us know your thoughts on these ideas. We need to start pushing back and make Kansas a more friendly Antique Vehicles State. Vintage Vehicles pay taxes on parts, upkeep/maintenance, gas, and any other items to maintain our Vintage Vehicle roadworthy. I have been told Vintage Vehicle generates over 50 million in revenue through just parts and services alone in Kansas. Please Inform your friends and family members to fill out the simple form listed at the bottom of the email. We have updated the letter and if you have sent this before, please resend the form again.

We still need to share the Bill Information and get the word out that a 35 year-old vehicle is all the State of Kansas needs to worry about when filing as an Antique, instead of the tires and wheels on a classic vehicle. Please click on the links below to write your State Rep. or contact them by phone.
