MERRY CHRISTMAS & A JOYOUS NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!!!
~The December meeting was held Thursday 12/5/19 at 6:30PM at the Mulvane American Legion. Meeting was called to order by president Kevin Cardwell. This meeting was moved to the first Thursday because of conflicts and the busy Christmas season and activites. Diana and her team prepared another great meal for us prior to the meeting. We appreciate their willingness to make our meetings extra special with a meal. This is a great time to fellowship & get to know one another & new members. If you see Diana and her team, please tell them thank you!
~About 31 officers, members and guests attended the meeting. Thanks Marauders for stepping up and serving others and showing our communities how much we care and support them by serving at the F.R.O.G. Diner for the November meeting. Thanks to these members for reaching out and serving at the church: Steve Nichols, Marc Bitler, Dick Cole, Doug & Jean Horstman, Jerry Fletcher, Dave Oliphant, Ron & Roberta Bailey, Ed Johnson, Ron Cummings, Don Heersche, Barry Burchett, Max Ayers, Tom Sparkman & Suellen Staub. If I missed anyone, my apologies. Hopefully we can schedule another date at the church and give other members a chance to serve too.
**The Diner thanked the Marauders for their support in November and asked us to help again in the coming year. Concensus of members at the meeting was "we will be there." We will keep you posted with future serving dates!!
~Thanks for supporting the club meetings & other activities - it's always great to see so many attend and participate in the meetings and the planning of club business & activities. And a big thanks to members for supporting the Legion dinners.
~No additions or corrections from the November minutes.
~Steve Nichols gave the current treasurer's report. All is well & not much has changed since the last meeting. We have not paid certain obligations but they have been accounted for and we will be prepared to pay them. Calendar payments continue to be received and paid.
~Paul White with Blue Sky Ranch has asked for a donation for their Building Trades Program which has 25 kids participating. Motion was made and passed to donate $300 to this request and project with the stipulation that a representative from Blue Sky Ranch come to us earlier next year and make their request in person.
~Next club breakfast will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 8:30AM at the American Legion. Remember we need at least 30 people to ensure we can continue with this great activity. Invite your family and friends, have a great breakfast and a special time of fellowship and fun.
~Please remember the concerns of the club and those experiencing health issues and those who have recently lost loved ones. The Marauders Club is a "family" and we want to ensure we reach out to those in need whatever the reason. Please let Cheryl know if you know of a member that needs a card for any reason.
~Be sure to check the Club Website, the Cruisin Calendar or the KEYN online Cruisin Calendar for upcoming shows and activities. If you would like to be a ROAD CAPTAIN for any event, just let us know where & when you are leaving and we will let club members know so everyone can cruise together.
*CAR SHOW SEASON IS OVER FOR NOW - BUT PLEASE CONTINUE TO CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR OTHER ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS.

~We have new club shirts for $10. If you need a shirt, please contact Steve Nichols or come to the next meeting. If you would like to have a club shirt in a specific color or need a jacket or sweatshirt, contact Kevin Cardwell at Shirts Plus.
~We have new black and white hats for $6 - let Steve Nichols know if you need a shirt or hat.
*THE CALENDARS HAVE ARRIVED! IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND THE DECEMBER MEETING AND NEED YOUR CALENDARS YOU CAN PICK THEM UP AT STEVE NICHOLS HOME - PLEASE CALL HIM BEFORE TO ENSURE HE WILL BE THERE!! CONTACT STEVE AT 316-670-0240. CALENDERS ARE $5.00. AS IN YEARS PAST, THIS WAS A FUN PROJECT & GENERATES ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE CLUB. THANK YOU MARAUDERS - GREAT JOB!!!!
~IMPORTANT DATE TO REMEMBER & SAVE:
SHOWDOWN IN THE VALLEY WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2020 AT THE KANSAS STAR CASINO!!!
*Contracts with the Kansas Star and the Hampton have been signed - committe meetings will begin in the next few months. Consider how you can help & be ready to volunteer! We need every member to make this great show even greater!!!! WE NEED SPONSORS FOR 2020 - PLEASE BE THINKING ABOUT FRIENDS, FAMILY OR ANYONE YOU KNOW INCLUDING BUSINESSES - THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED WITH THE SHOW AS A MAJOR SPONSOR. WE WOULD BE THRILLED TO HAVE NEW BUSINESSES JOIN US AS WELL - AS A SPONSOR AT ANY LEVEL. If you need information on sponsorship - contact Steve Nichols for details.
**We always need to be willing to improve each show from year to year! If you have an idea but you do not want to contact the person or business yourself, let us know and we will take care of it.
*There are 21 members and cars entered in the upcoming Cars for Charity Show. Move-in for the show will be Thursday, January 15, 2020. If you have entered the show you should have received your confirmation and car # by now. If you are entered and have not notified Cheryl, please do so ASAP. Also - those members participating need to ensure Cheryl has your shirt size as we will have a "special" club shirt again this year that we will wear on Saturday of the show and do a club picture like in years past. If you did not enter this year, please consider participating next year - it is a fun time as a club and the show is a charity event.
**For those entered, be watching for a letter from Cars for Charity with details on our move-in time. We will meet up about an hour prior to move-in to ensure we are ready to load cars and begin set up in our display. We WILL be parked in the Century II building off of Douglas - we are NOT in Expo Hall this year. Thank you to the cars that have volunteered to be part of the 6-7 needed to relocate their cars early on Friday morning so Century II staff can move some items.
**Cars for Charity requested a donation of $500 again this year to bring the ARC and Starkey folks to the show. Motion made and passed to donate these funds.
**We will discuss our Cars for Charity display at the January meeting. IF YOU ARE ENTERED AND DO NOT HAVE YOUR CLUB SIGN WITH YOUR NAME & CITY-STATE - PLEASE LET CHERYL KNOW ASAP. You will need a 9 X 12 frame - Document Frame for this sign. It will be printed on 8 1/2 X 11 paper and will not fit in an 8 X 10 frame without cutting it down. Please be looking for your sign so you will have it by show time.
*At the next meeting on Thursday, January 9, 2020 we will have a drawing for 'two' day passes for the Cars for Charity Show.
*Next club dinner will be Sunday 2/9/20 at 1:00PM at the Mulvane American Legion. A BBQ dinner will be served - members will once again be asked to participate in the "Potluck Dessert" and bring your favorite treat to share with everyone It will also be our "white elephant" exchange - be looking around the house and garage and save those "treasures" to share with someone else.
*Please keep members who are experiencing health issues and those recovering from health issues in your thoughts and prayers! Also those who have recently lost family members.
*CLUB BREAKFAST - OUR CLUB BREAKFAST WILL BE SATURDAY - 1/11/20 - 8:30AM. Adults - $8, 6-12 - $5 and kids 5 and under - Free! MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND SAVE THE DATES!! Please thank Diana and her team for these great get togethers - we look forward to them and is a great way to spend time with one another & support the American Legion. Watch the newsletter & announcements for additional details.
~IF YOU KNOW OF A MEMBER THAT IS NOT GETTING NEWSLETTERS, ANNOUNCEMENTS AND/OR EMAILS...PLEASE HAVE THEM CONTACT US! IN ORDER TO KEEP MEMBERS UP-TO-DATE ON CLUB BUSINESS AND EVENTS, WE NEED TO HAVE CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESSES. IF YOU KNOW OF A MEMBER WHO DOES NOT HAVE EMAIL, PLEASE TRY TO "BUDDY" WITH THAT MEMBER & HELP KEEP THEM INFORMED ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS REQUEST!!
*MEMBERS - UPDATE WEBSITE -- HAVE YOU UPDATED YOUR INFORMATION AND/OR PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE RECENTLY??? Take a few minutes, log in & update your profile. It's easy - just logon webpage, go to the bottom right corner, put in your email address and password. If you don't remember your password just send Steve Nichols an email and he will send you a new one so you can complete this update. If you have a problem updating or adding a photo of your car, contact Steve for assistance. Kasey - our webmaster - has made some new improvements that will allow members to add or edit pictures of their cars on the website. If you are still having issues, please contact Steve and he can walk you through the process.
*ALSO - if you have an ad on the webpage and it is not longer valid, PLEASE delete it. If you can't do that, let us know and we will delete it for you.
~2018 WAS THE CLUB'S 60TH BIRTHDAY - 1958-2018 - "60 YEARS & STILL CRUISIIN"!! LET'S CONTINUE THE LEGACY AS WE "CRUISE" IN 2019!!!
~Please continue to check the website club events section for upcoming events & club activities. If you need an event posted, please contact Cheryl or Steve. The website calendar has been udated with all the events that we are aware of so far. If you know of additional events, please let us know and we will be glad to list them for you.
~If there is something you would like to see in the newsletter or have ideas for outings and/or events - please let us hear from you! If you are interested in being the Road Captain for a show or event, please let us know & we will post it.

*We have several members experiencing health issues, back problems and other concerns and some recovering from surgery. Please keep our Marauders Family in your thoughts and continued prayers.
*Continue to remember Marsha Hills during her recovery from back surgery and related concerns.
*Keep Steve Preston's wife Becky in your prayers as she continues to recover from recent health issues.
*Danny Boyes had some recent health concerns but is back to normal and feeling much better.
The Marauders Family cares about all members and it is our desire to support each and every one.
**Give these folks a call and let them know you are thinking of them and/or send a card!!!
We need to continuously lift up all our members and celebrate their joys and always be there for those needing our support.
