“SMOKE AND GAS”
FROM THE
MULVANE MARAUDERS
OCTOBER - 2018

~The OCTOBER meeting was held Thursday 10/18/18 and called to order at 6:30PM by Treasurer Steve Nichols in absence of President Kevin Cardwell at the Mulvane American Legion. Kevin is enjoying some time away on a cruise with his family.   Vice-President Harry Funke also missed the meeting as he was a bit under the weather.   Thanks to Diane's team for the brat & bierock dinner prior to the meeting.  We appreciate all their hard work to make our meetings extra special with a meal so we can visit & fellowship with one another.
~About 30 officers, members & guests attended the meeting.
~Thanks for supporting the meetings - it's always great to see so many attend and participate.
~No additions or corrections from the September minutes.
~Steve Nichols gave the treasurer's report including bills paid & calendar deposits.  Our balance is good - we still need to pay for the 'rock signs' for the Mulvane City Parks.  A down payment was made to Envision for the calendars when Steve submitted the information.  After all the disbursements - all is well!!
~The calendars have been ordered and orders should be ready for pickup at the November meeting.  We hope if you wanted a club calendar you have reserved one!   IF not and we have any left after filling the orders, we will let members know if we have remaining calendars.  If you have placed an order & have not paid - you can do so at the November meeting OR you can mail a check (payable to Mulvane Marauders) to Steve Nichols, P.O. Box 151, Mulvane, KS 67110. This is a fun project and is good advertising for the club and our many businesses who support us.  Thanks to everyone who made this project possible and members who had their cars in the photo shoots.  We appreciate all of you for your willingness to support the Calendar Project!  Great job!!!
~Steve reminded members the 14th Annual Kruz'n for Kids Charity Car Cruise will be October 28 & ask members to support this event.   Cheryl is making plans to finalize the event - there will be some great door prizes, raffle & auction items as we have some fun collecting new unwrapped toys & funds for the USMC Toys for Tots program.
~Members were advised the Marauders Club breakfasts will begin Saturday November 10 at the Mulvane American Legion.  November is the exception - all other breakfasts will be on the FIRST Saturday of each month.
~Steve reminded members of upcoming events and car shows - be sure to check the club website, the Cruisin Calendar or the KEYN online Cruisin Calendar for upcoming shows and activities.  If you would like to be a ROAD CAPTAIN for any event, just let us know where & when you are leaving and we will let club members know so everyone can cruise together.  There are MANY shows & events in the next few weeks - pick one, enjoy and support the community!

"ON THE LIGHT SIDE smiley
*A lady failed the written driving test 4 times.  At the 5th attempt, she was determined to pass.  But the test had the same question -----
"You are driving at 75 mph.  On your right is a wall, on your left is a cliff.  On the road you see an old man and a young man.  What will you hit?"
The woman walked up to the examiner and said, "I've answered this question all four ways -- wall, cliff, old man & young man, yet I failed all 4 times.  How is that possible?  What am I suppose to hit??"
The examiner replied, "THE BRAKE!!"
(Men are not suppose to laugh - and I just print these!!!)

*Los Angeles is one of the two finalists to host the 2024 Olympics.  So if you want to attend one of the events in L.A., you should get on the freeway now!  (Conan O'Brien)

*The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket!

*WHERE IS MY SUNDAY PAPER???
The irate customer calling the newspaper office loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was.
"Madam," said the newspaper employee, "Today is Saturday.  The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow
on Sunday."
There was a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter....
"Well.....crap......, that explains why no one was at church either!!!"

*Thought for the day -  You have 365 blank pages, what will you write?
